Payson Area Parks & Recreation

Payson is home to two beautiful parks to choose from. The first and oldest is Rumsey Park. Rumsey Park is home to two soccer fields, three softball fields, Payson Public Library and an outdoor basketball court as well as fun outdoor children's playground and several Ramada's to house large group picnics and activities. Rumsey Park is set among tall Ponderosa Pine trees.

Green Valley Park is recent beautiful addition to Payson at the end of Main Street heading west. The park is center-pieced by a beautiful man made lake that is stocked with trout for fishing. Outdoor concerts are held in the summer at the outdoor grassy knoll. Green Valley Park is also home to a War Memorial that must be seen and reflected upon. There also is terrific children's playground area and walking / biking path that surround the park.

Payson Airport

The Payson Airport situated a short mile north of town provides easy access to the community for the frequent flyer. The lighted runway is 5500 feet and supports some 30,000 operations per year.

At the airport is the Crosswinds Restaurant for the convenience of aviators or simply to go there and check out the awesome views of the Mogollon Rim.
